Hi. If you are new here, I’m Christi. I have pretty much devoted my life to all things food but even more to teaching people how to enjoy life and how to have a right relationship with food so that it is a joy not a pain.

What is this website all about? I will tell you with a very short story.

In a very difficult time in our lives financially, the lightbulb came on for me.

Short version…we took a leap of faith and moved to Napa Valley without much planning and then the economy imploded in 2008. We were pretty much in dire straights but living in the one of the most beautiful places in the world and what is considered the fruit basket (or salad bowl depending on what farm area you’re in) of the US due to all the local farms - mostly organic or biodynamic.

Eating healthy isn’t a steady diet of wheatgrass and tofu. It is simply fruits, vegetables, protein and healthy fats in their most natural forms.

I happened to host a farm’s CSA box delivery service so I got a free box of produce every week. This along with the fresh herbs I always had either because I grew them or they were cheap and an always-full spice drawer became my secret weapons for delicious food on a budget. I learned how to use all these “flavoring agents” along with the fresh produce box and whatever protein was on sale at the store or farmers market to create meals that were just as good as any restaurant meal we could not have afforded at the time.

Now it’s my turn to pass it along to you all that I learned in the critical time. Everything I produce from blog posts to full blown courses will give you tons of resources, tips and hacks to both save money and get you out of the kitchen fast. I am currently working on a new course that will provide you with a look into the daily hacks that I use as well as some live cook along sessions so you can see my methods. This should be available in the mid 2019.

Within the next year I will be earning my certification as a wellness coach and becoming board certified in Holistic Nutrition. Besides the recipes that I have always shared, you can be sure there will be posts on all the information I am gleaning from taking classes prior to, and studying for, these exams.
